Email will always be relevant and is here to stay for a long while. More than 80% of email users check their main inbox every day and email engagement has increased since the 2020 pandemic.
You need an email for almost everything, all top 500 companies collect emails because they know how important that direct one-to-one relationship is with their customer or clients at every level.
Email marketing is still the highest ROI marketing channel for most industries and will remain one of the best-performing channels for an eCommerce brand.
In the future the difference is that you need to get more creative with how you build your email lists, like using social media in particular. E.g. find your customers organically on social media, then turn those followers into subscribers by getting them on your email list so you’re not dependent on high social ad spend. Social media, with its billions of users browsing daily, really is currently the best acquisition channel to build your email list.
As the saying goes “social is for discovery, email is for conversions.”
However, deterministic identity matching through a graph database which basically captures emails from anonymous website visitors using personally identifiable information (PII) given by customers such as mobile number, email address, and key demographic details will become more accurate in the future and will most likely help grow lists perhaps x5 or even x10 times faster than what we currently know as standards, without the risk of ruining your IP and domain reputation as is currently the case in 2023 when using a tool such as retention.com.
Everything will become more and more automated with the advancements in AI and Machine Learning. AI-based segmentation and hyper-personalization will be hard for the human brain to compete with. Beneficial for someone in the field: Become acquainted with the software developments. Be on your toes and keep an eye out for any new software that comes into the market. You never know, it could just be the change your business or strategy needs.
Do you think AI is gonna replace you?
While AI technology has made significant advancements in recent years, it is unlikely that it will completely replace email marketers anytime soon. AI can be a valuable tool for email marketing and copywriting, as it can automate certain tasks and provide data-driven insights to help improve campaigns. However, the creative and strategic aspects of email marketing and copywriting are still best handled by human experts who can understand and connect with the audience on a deeper level.
Email marketing and copywriting require a high level of creativity, empathy, and strategic thinking, which are skills that are difficult for AI to replicate. AI may be able to generate copy that is grammatically correct and coherent, but it is less likely to create copy that resonates emotionally with the reader or captures the brand’s unique voice and personality.
Additionally, email marketing and copywriting require a level of human judgment that AI may not be able to replicate. Human marketers and copywriters can interpret context and nuance, and adjust their messaging accordingly. They can also anticipate and respond to unexpected events or changes in the market that may not be reflected in data analysis.
In short, AI is unlikely to replace email marketers or copywriters in the near future, but it may continue to be used as a tool to enhance our work and improve our efficiency.
